Nothing in this blog can be believed. If you think that anything in this blog is true or factual, you'll need to verify it from another source. Do you understand? No? Then read it again, and repeat this process, until you understand that you cannot sue me for anything you read here. Also, having been sucked into taking part in the mass-murder of more than 3 million Vietnamese people on behalf of U.S. Big Business "interests", I'm as mad as a cut snake (and broke) so it might be a bit silly to try to sue me anyway...

ho, ho, ho...

It's Christmas time again...

"Joy to the world..."

And here, in this blog, in 2005, THIS is what I contributed to this totally fucked time of the year...

Don't even bother going there unless you're going to read (and really think about) all of the comments there as well... (Back then, a few more people read this blog... See how anti-depressants fuck bloggers' brains?)

Anyway...

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HO, HO, HO...

Happy New Year !!!

One sunny day in 2008, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President George W. Bush."

The Marine replied, "Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer President and doesn't reside here."
The old man said, "Okay," and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President George W. Bush".

The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is no longer President and doesn't reside here."
The man thanked him and again walked away . . .

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President George W. Bush."

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you already several times that Mr. Bush is not the President anymore and doesn't reside here. Don't you understand?"

The old man answered, "Oh, I understand you fine, I just love hearing your answer!"
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow"

serving corruption...

I attended a small anti-war protest at Sydney Town Hall today. And while I was telling one of the other protesters about my background, she said that she wanted to acknowledge me for having served my country.

This took me a bit by surprise. So I pointed out to her that whilst at the time I believed that I was serving my country, I subsequently realised that I was in fact serving only the corrupt elements of this country, and that it took me years to finally figure this out.

I always was a bit slow...

I also pointed out that most veterans are more interested in justifying the mass murder they participated in than doing the hard yards to read enough to enable them to cut through the "fog of war" and get a bit closer to the real machinations behind the wars they fought in - some even believe it would be akin to treason to do such a thing.

[sigh]

John Pilger's movie - War on Democracy

Went to see it tonight. Awsome!

Once again, I am filled with rage at the hubris, arrogance and criminality of rich Americans and the willful ignorance of middle class Americans.

Once again, I am moved to chanting "YANKEE GO HOME !!!"

the ruddslide...

So Rudd's won in a "landslide"...

Well he'd better achieve miracles in his first three-year term or he'll be booted out quick-smart.

Most of the seats which slid his way, he holds by only one or two percent (or less). Global economic shit will happen in the next three years and the Libs will blame him for that and every other woe that befalls this country between now and the next elections, so unless he has some offsetting miracles to counter that, he'll be back in opposition again in 2010...

And this might be a good time to congratulate Julia, The Warrior Princess...

Go Girrrrlllll!!!!

oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son...

A Hard Rain's A-gonna Fall... Apologies to Bob Dylan...

For the last three months or so I've been involved with the Blue Mountains Greens' election campaign. I could tell you many things of riveting interest, dear reader, alas, most of the interesting will never be made public by me. Suffice to say that the experience was as unsettling for the dear old Greens as it was for me... But a good result was achieved nevertheless... There, that's enough goss for you on that topic...

And I'm back blogging... I don't think I have any readers left, but that's not a problem, I like talking to myself...

On a more cheery note, I read in The Australian, that more US military veterans had killed themselves in one year than the number of American soldiers who have died in Iraq since 2003, it was claimed yesterday.

At least 6256 US veterans took their own lives in 2005, at an average of 17 a day, according to figures broadcast last night. Former servicemen are more than twice as likely than the rest of the population to commit suicide.

Such statistics compare to the total 3863 US military deaths in Iraq since the invasion in 2003 -- an average of 2.4 a day, according to the website icasualties.org.

So, get stuffed, the lot of youse... ;-)

(Thanks to Mike Ballard for the heads-up on the article in The Australian)
