Nothing in this blog can be believed. If you think that anything in this blog is true or factual, you'll need to verify it from another source. Do you understand? No? Then read it again, and repeat this process, until you understand that you cannot sue me for anything you read here. Also, having been sucked into taking part in the mass-murder of more than 3 million Vietnamese people on behalf of U.S. Big Business "interests", I'm as mad as a cut snake (and broke) so it might be a bit silly to try to sue me anyway...

let's cut to the chase...

The Mohamed Haneef saga is becoming a sick joke. We've had sick jokes before from this government: The Tampa joke, the Children Overboard joke, the Going to Iraq joke, the Scott Parkin joke, and a few more which escape me at the moment...

Back to Haneef though... They've used the Scott Parkin template again. They're saying "we know he's guilty of something but we can't tell you what it is." What a load of crap. If Kevin Andrews and Mick Keelty aren't prepared to make the evidence available to the defense lawyers and the accused, you don't have a fair trial. What you've got is a kangaroo court.

What a bunch of piss-weak, knee-jerking, fear-mongering pricks we have currently running this country... Is this what I "fought for"???

But perhaps it's "Mission Accomplished" for the HoWARd government anyway... Even though we're drastically short of doctors in this country, can you imagine, after this shameful affair, that any Muslim doctor would want to come here?

Racist Xenophobic Orstrayans - 1 , Multiculturalism - 0.

Or...

HoWARd's Christian Crusaders -1 , Muslims - 0.

Take yer pick...

I'm getting pretty sick of HoWARd's covertly extremist bullshit...

introducing....

A blog after my own heart. Now, if we could only get them to commit to unconditional nonviolence with regard to political activism, we'd have a force that is unstoppable.

ship of fools....

The Independent's Johann Hari sets sail with America's swashbuckling neocons.

The Iraq war has been an amazing success, global warming is just a myth – and as for Guantanamo Bay, it's practically a holiday camp... The annual cruise organised by the 'National Review', mouthpiece of right-wing America, is a parallel universe populated by straight-talking, gun-toting, God-fearing Republicans.

Why the limp Dicked US will invade Iran next...

Well...

Read this>>>

And this >>>

And GreenSmile reckons you should read this >>>

Seems everyone understood this for ages, except me (and you?) ...

Want more? Just Google: iran oil euros

Then Google: OPEC euros

Then ask Costello (the Australian Treasurer) why we're still so happily tied to the Yankee Dollaah... Is he buying deck chairs on the Titanic with our money? Shouldn't someone throw Costello overboard?

Now... where did I put my pills...

why the US went to war in Iraq...

Davo, after talking about petrodollars in a comment on an earlier post, sent me an email with a link to an interesting set of essays on this topic. You might like to read them...

Update: This site says it well too.

Updated update: In March 2003 the US invaded Iraq. Two months later, two things happened which were not necessarily unrelated: Iraq (controlled by US Forces) switched back to selling its oil exports in US dollars, and lo and behold, the US President announced Mission Accomplished.

I've bought it...

I've bought the video camera I want for The Job.

I bought it (new) on ebay. I await delivery with fingers crossed and arms akimbo.

I thought you should know. I don't know why. Ego perhaps?

Update: It's arrived! Now, let's hope I don't spin out on the learning curve...

from the archives - #1...

http://diogenes999.blogspot.com/2005/02/what-now.html

Now, of course, it's time to pull out. The mess cannot be fixed by staying there.

But back then, that's how I saw it...

Oh well...

in the name of happiness...

You get into some "interesting" conversations when talking politics with people...

The other day this dude, who correctly identified that the biggest problem on the planet was overpopulation, had this to offer by way of a "solution": Substantially reducing the global population by doing away with people chosen via some sort of ballot. His justification for such mass murder was that life was all about happiness and reducing the global population would lead to potenially greater happiness for those not affected by the death ballot.

He was serious, dear reader... And I'm still shuddering...

But since then, one question has been rattling around in my brain: What kind of definition of happiness includes the justification of mass murder in order to achieve this happiness?

the pills, Gerry, take the pills...

Yeah, well I have been...

It's been six months now since I went onto antidepressants. And I'm off the grog. And I feel lobotomised. I find it almost impossible to blog. Seldom think of suicide. Few lows and few highs. Just emotional flatlining. Emotional death. Wow, what a life...

I pine for a ride on the roller coaster...
