Nothing in this blog can be believed. If you think that anything in this blog is true or factual, you'll need to verify it from another source. Do you understand? No? Then read it again, and repeat this process, until you understand that you cannot sue me for anything you read here. Also, having been sucked into taking part in the mass-murder of more than 3 million Vietnamese people on behalf of U.S. Big Business "interests", I'm as mad as a cut snake (and broke) so it might be a bit silly to try to sue me anyway...

why the US went to war in Iraq...

Davo, after talking about petrodollars in a comment on an earlier post, sent me an email with a link to an interesting set of essays on this topic. You might like to read them...

Update: This site says it well too.

Updated update: In March 2003 the US invaded Iraq. Two months later, two things happened which were not necessarily unrelated: Iraq (controlled by US Forces) switched back to selling its oil exports in US dollars, and lo and behold, the US President announced Mission Accomplished.

These articles were right.

And their reasoning now applies to Sick Cheney's push for a putsch in Iran:

So, GS, is it too early to declare that the US's ability to bully the Middle East and much of the rest of the world has reached the "limp Dick" stage?

I have begun to think AlQuida really IS our enemy...if they didn't like things as fucked up as they are now, they would have found a true-believing sharp shooter to put a little lead through some of these thugs we call leaders.

in a word, limp or not, empire will keep humping the world til its own citizens cannot be made to wear a uniform. We are not there yet.

GS, al-Qaeda and extremists from all ideologies are the problem. I have no idea what the solution is.

Perhaps if we just shot anyone who talks about going to war, a lot less people would talk about going to war. But then we'd have become pacifist extremists...

What IS the answer?
