Nothing in this blog can be believed. If you think that anything in this blog is true or factual, you'll need to verify it from another source. Do you understand? No? Then read it again, and repeat this process, until you understand that you cannot sue me for anything you read here. Also, having been sucked into taking part in the mass-murder of more than 3 million Vietnamese people on behalf of U.S. Big Business "interests", I'm as mad as a cut snake (and broke) so it might be a bit silly to try to sue me anyway...

get with the program...

Heard the Word of Blog?

Get with the program here >>>

First noticed the button here >>>

Button designed by Red One.

Addendum: To the best of my knowledge, only one other Australian blogger has gotten with the program. Where are are all the dissidents? Terrified to stick your heads up? Chardonnay activists? Bah! The spirit of the Australian larrikin is dead.

MD, good to see you come on board but may I suggest the button is better placed in your sidebar where it won't disappear into the archives soon. Pyewacket???

Fox, thanks. Added. You're one cool fox.

Hi Gerry at the risk of seeming profoundly ignorant, what does it mean exactly?

There is allegedly a memo detailing a conversation between Bush and Blair in which Bush is seeking Blairs consent to bombing the al Jazeera HQ in Qatar. Blair allegedly wanted to have no part of that.

Blair has threatened to jail any journalist who publishes the memo in Britain. Bush would perhaps render them to Egypt. Accomplice Howard would presumably give us up to either of these two mass-murdering oil thieves if we publish it.

The memo has apparently been leaked and is floating around "out there somewhere".

Bloggers displaying the button claim to be prepared to publish the memo and risk being jailed. The idea being that this would create a huge political storm.

Google "al jazeera memo" (include the quote marks) and you'll be able to read all about the memo-which-must-not-be-leaked

Thanks for that Gerry, so in effect the threat of prosecution is nothing more than a vain attempt to cover Bush's arse for suggesting such a vile and patently illegal act? Blair's a fool, expose the scurrilous bastard. These people are amoral.

Gerry, there's clearly more than 10 reasons, but I'll refrain from numbering them. Case in point.

Yes, Link. Saving Bush's sorry arse is right. The memo is apparently classified Top Secret, so they can prosecute under the (British) Official Secrets Act anyone who publishes the document. But anti-war bloggers are hardly going to be intimidated by that kind of Nazi crap. So I reckon publication in the blogosehere is imminent. Come up and see me (in jail) sometime... ;-)

Chumpsrock, thanks.

Hi Gerry - nice to see you're joining us in jail and thanks for the link.

I won't take up your comments by writing screeds about it all - though it makes me very angry and I'm sorely tempted! I've posted a fair bit about it - and will do some kind of "where we are now" state of play post tonight (London time).

This story has been running a while in Britain, but has taken time to spread overseas. It's useful to have lots of discussion outside Britain though, because that is usually a good way to circumvent the Official Secrets Act... ;-)

Correction: there may be nothing new on my site tonight. My internet connection has been off and on at intervals all day and I am fed up of fighting with it. Bloody technology. Grrr.

MD, you're welcome.

Red, glad to join such a noble and courageous cause. We are, after all, literally fighting for freedom and democracy. This is a nice non-violent thing to be doing. Hope your technical glitches have settled down.

Drop in any time and comment as much as you want.
