I'm nuts. I know. I'm nuts because I'm not "sane". That's how nuts is defined - anything outside the bell curve of "sanity" is "insanity". Easy, yeah?

But the clever bastards don't actually define sanity. For instance, they'll diagnose you as "paranoid" without actually establishing beyond doubt whether your fears are valid or justified. Now, THAT's nuts, but don't tell THEM that, or you'll be guilty of another crime against the thought police.

So, what is sanity? Well, it has to do with the bell curve of normalcy of behaviour.
It's the democracy of psychology.

And we all know where democarcy's taking us, don't we?

It's taking us to wherever the majority wants to go. But what if, by an entirely different definition of sanity, the majority is nuts? Well then, under a psychological democracy, the lunatics get to run the asylum.... Does that resonate? Hmmm???

And what's sanity got to do with political democracy? Everything or nothing. Depends on how you define political sanity...
