Whatever it takes...
Got your attention yet?
Good.
What am I on about?
People Power. Or more precisely, Women Power.
Women are still not getting equal pay for equal work in this country.
46% of the workforce is female.
Do women understand the economic and political power they could wield if they acted as one in a fully-committed campaign?
Do women understand that if they acted in solidarity to withhold their labour, i.e. go on strike, they could have such a huge economic and political effect that employers and the government would have to cave in to their demands for equal pay within a matter of a few days?
All it takes has been spelled out in the first line of this post.
GO GIRLS !!! YOU CAN DO IT !!! RISE UP !!!

By that logic, we're all screwed. But I don't buy it.
No government would get away with that as a tactic for too long before facing a revolution.
Or are we we really so easily intimidated? If so, we're doomed by our own timidity.

Ahhh... see, Lemmiwinks, we've got you commenting like a pro already. Nyik, nyik, nyik... [cackle]
But I was trying to get people to cognite to the immense power that peaceful people power has when it is done right. Done right, I believe it is the most unstoppable force in politics.
Alas, it is not well-understood and hence grossly under-utilised in this country (and in the developed world generally).
Seems we have to be on our knees before we "get it". Sadly, by then the anger levels are usually so high that people power easily morphs into mass violence which is totally counter-productive and gives the whole concept a bad name. Oy vey.
Maybe Jesus meant "peaceful people power" when he said "the meek shall inherit the earth." He certainly understood the concept perfectly and taught it well.
