Ouch.
In a democracy, the people's responsibility doesn't just extend to how they vote, but also to quickly taking down a government which misbehaves, and peaceful people power is dynamite in that department - but it depends on enough people bing willing to put themselves out in order to take the pricks to task. Just waiting till the next elections is a mug's game.
Revolution might be what is called for soon. Are enough people up for it? I don't think so... "ba-aa-aa ba-aa-aa ba-aa-aa" is all we'll hear from most of the people as the world goes to the dogs...
