Nothing in this blog can be believed. If you think that anything in this blog is true or factual, you'll need to verify it from another source. Do you understand? No? Then read it again, and repeat this process, until you understand that you cannot sue me for anything you read here. Also, having been sucked into taking part in the mass-murder of more than 3 million Vietnamese people on behalf of U.S. Big Business "interests", I'm as mad as a cut snake (and broke) so it might be a bit silly to try to sue me anyway...

Assignment

"Democracy (such as it is) is a race to the bottom which eventually leads to things becoming so bad that the people gladly embrace the rantings of any dictator who promisies to fix their woes."

Discuss (if you want.)

I believe what you described is capitalism.

The rich will always become more powerful, and thus consolidate wealth.

If there is no regulation on capitalist activity, then capitalism becomes incompatible with democracy.

You may be right, John, but the only reason your argument holds a bit of water is because for the last sixty-odd years, the US have applied a Fordesque policy of "you can have any democracy you like, as long as it's pro-capitalist." Now, if that isn't capitalist totalitarianism, I don't know what is.

Cries like a child when the last vestige of lollipop disappears; or if you tell people without bread you can't have your cake and eat it. could lead to a jolly old topping.
A leftwing election victory in Oz can be likened to a bloodless peoples revolution in Bolivia.

Am testing a free bottle of J D at this moment, great stuff, only the well heeled can afford this privilege.
