Nothing in this blog can be believed. If you think that anything in this blog is true or factual, you'll need to verify it from another source. Do you understand? No? Then read it again, and repeat this process, until you understand that you cannot sue me for anything you read here. Also, having been sucked into taking part in the mass-murder of more than 3 million Vietnamese people on behalf of U.S. Big Business "interests", I'm as mad as a cut snake (and broke) so it might be a bit silly to try to sue me anyway...

You're spot on, Davo.

C'mon, Gerry. If the Mayan calendar actually has any merit, there's not much time left.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

I have nothing to say which I haven't already said several times, in one form or another. I'm sick of the repetition.

Nothing will change because the dominant culture is driven by greed, selfishness, exploitation, a sense of supremacy, and "the law of the jungle" where those with the most money and the biggest military might get to call the shots.

Those who would oppose this seem to think that violent, armed "struggle" is the way to go and then wonder why they keep getting done in, time and time again.

Mention the likes of Thoreau, King, Gandhi, and Cesar Chavez, and these geniuses of "revolution" will tell you that "it won't work" or they trot out some tired old crap about why mass murder is justified when it's done by their side i.e. two wrongs make a right. Ask them if they've seriously read the works of Thoreau, King, Gandhi, and Cesar Chavez, and they'll give you some excuse.

(Even Jesus understood the overwhelming power of non-violent political action but it's no use trotting his teachings out at a time when the fundamentalist and evangelical "Christians" have hijacked the man's teachings to wage their insane holy wars and crusades.)

I'm sick of the hypocisy of these wannabe "revolutionaries".

So what's left? The peanut gallery chucking banal wit and non sequiturs about with gay abandon? Sorry, but that doesn't quite do it for me...

The world is fucked and an insufficient number of people are seriously interested in unfucking it in a way which doesn't involve violence. Oh, they say they're for peace, but as soon as a few of them get monstered, they revert to type and bay for war.

You cannot defeat insanity with insanity. I quit. I know that makes me a loser too, but I quit.

There!!! You wanted another rant and you got one.

Now PISS OFF, THE FUCKING LOT OF YOU !!!

Yep, Davo, in this case, I think I do.

When all you've got is a pathetic pair of twos, all that's left is bluffing or folding. Well, I bluffed for far too long and it was time to fold.

Post Script:

In mid-2001 I was already quite cynical. I saw the world as almost hopeless and pointless. I didn't have a lot of respect for America. Big Money was screwing the planet big time and America was its biggest enabler. An idiot called George W Bush was running the place and that confirmed for me everything I thought about America.

And then an even bigger idiot, Osama bin Laden, orchestrated 9/11, giving the Lesser Idiot a golden opportunity to show the world how stupid he can be.

And I lost ALL hope and started hating America. This blog is full of my reasons for this.

But this morning, listening to Barack Obama's inauguration, I was given a little hope. For the first time in over a decade I see a glimmer of hope for this planet.

There's a chance, a tiny little chance, that this man will actually be able to outmanouver the stupidity and greed that has been trashing this planet.

The sceptic in me says "let's wait and see", but I must admit I'm actually hopeful.

There... What a nice note to finish on...

Awwww, 'tis indeed a nice note, but don't be premature, Gerry. Let's hope like mad that Obama is allowed to live up to his rhetoric. I'm pretty sure his heart's in the right place - but he's going to be pushing the proverbial uphill with a pointy stick, coming to the Big Seat at this time. Hope is better than nothing but it may not be enough :-(

Obama sounds a hopeful note and he seems to have much of the intelligence and attitude I imagine the giant turn-around will require.

But I hope everyone has noticed that his leadership will improve nothing without our equally "responsible" followership. He has laid down a challenge for us ... and "us" as he seems to mean it is not just unilaterally Americans. Thank god that cowboy idea got on a plane and went back to Texas where it may belong.

In the next 8 years, I hope to personally strike a blow against the fossil fueled corporations who siphon wealth from nature on a global scale. I mean to do it by reinventing a traditional kind of employment. Let the shipping lanes grow quiet, let the coal mines grow mushrooms. Let there be hope and contentment with less consumption.

Sue, welcome to a dead blog.. I was trying hard to shut it down on a positive note, but your point is well taken.

GreenSmile, I hope you succeed in striking a telling blow. Now... all you guys... stop trying to suck me into keeping this blog on life-support. There is no brain activity.

Let's pull the plug, eh...

May the probably-non-existent deity of your own reification bless you and keep you; and make his or her face shine upon you and be gracious to you; and turn his or her face toward you and give you peace.

Amen...

Here endeth the blog...
