bad things happen...
It's a saying; a truism. It sounds wise.
It motivates "good" people into action to try to upturn "bad" situations/circumstances/policies/governments/etc/etc/etc.
Yo dudette!!!! Yo dude!!!
Have we spotted yet what the problem is, my dear dudettes and dudes?
Well, the problem is the assumption that "good" and "bad" are absolutes, rather than the value judgements of individuals, groups, nations, religions, cultures, etc, etc, etc.
So, using the above truism, we could justify the zealous opposition to ANYTHING.
Makes you wonder, don't it?
Good/bad, right/wrong, better/worse...
But who decides what's good/bad, right/wrong, better/worse ???
Hmmm???

Hi Gerry!
You are precisely right!
Sadly, even if we knew right from wrong and we all agreed on it, it's a bit too late to have any impact on this archaic society I beleive.

But but, but... What about Johnnie HoWARd's Orstayan Values? Don't we all agree on what's right/wrong, good/bad, better/worse for Orstraya? Surely we all agree about those? How else could there be such a thing as Orstrayan Values, if we didn't all agree on what they were, eh? ;-)
we will be told what the values are by our betters. by which i mean the federal government, sensible media commentators and you know who they are, and real australians. you can tell who they are becuase they vote for the government.
the rest of us are elites and need to be re-educated.
