I'd love someone to explain to me why it isn't.

GO THE GREENS !!!The Editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03884172849865230486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732615.post-20576610905022644542007-11-22T10:16:00.000+11:002007-11-22T10:16:00.000+11:00I'm Green.Rudd supporting Gunns has caused Catheri...I'm Green.
Rudd supporting Gunns has caused Catherine King (ALP Ballarat) to lose my vote.

The two-party system is shit.Ann ODynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01159263330547329077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732615.post-48635072561686667622007-11-21T00:32:00.000+11:002007-11-21T00:32:00.000+11:00If the coalition voters get their way, we'll all e...If the coalition voters get their way, we'll all end up gasping for oxygen in the end.

And meanwhile, in the Great Global Climate Change Debate, no one is yet brave enough to talk about the two biggest elephants in the phone box: Over-population and rampant consumerism.

However, one leading British climate scientist this week started to let a teensy bit of the cat out of the bag when he hinted at the need for serious changes in our lifestyles if we are to curb global warming in time to avert a catastrophe. The cynic in me says the professional obfuscators hired by Big Money will win out and shit will happen anyway. I trust human nature.

And anyway, we're all guilty of not wanting to crank our lifestyle down to a sustainability footprint rating of 1. Sure some of us are doing more than others and can point self-righteous fingers at others, but in the end that's just more wankery.

Anyone capable of basic economic thinking can figure out that if enough people actually did what it would take to head off the climate catastrophe, the global economy would go bust absolutely. But that's really just academic, because not enough people will do what it would take, ergo, the economy will continue to wobble along like a drunken dyspeptic ogre and the planet will go to the dogs just before we have the mega-wars which will deal with the "population solution".

Hopefully I will be dead by then.

Pleasant dreams, y'all...The Editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03884172849865230486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732615.post-36766706143873683622007-11-20T22:17:00.000+11:002007-11-20T22:17:00.000+11:00Presumably all coalition voters have been starved ...Presumably all coalition voters have been starved of oxygen for a while.philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12011647023598364166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732615.post-21919091210785210412007-11-18T18:19:00.000+11:002007-11-18T18:19:00.000+11:00Good show, old girl!!!If the votee croaks, you'd b...Good show, old girl!!!

If the votee croaks, you'd be forgiven if in your unending grief you forgot to inform them.
